| Enjoy a sauna in a genuine and atmospheric mill milieu! The Kriikku Mill is also an excellent setting to get acquainted with the traditional history and culture of Ostrobothnia and Finland. On a warm summer evening, you can make yourself a traditional Finnish birch branch whisk (called a “vihta”) for the sauna and whisk away in the calming steam of the sauna by the bubbling rapids.
The Myllytupa restaurant, a 3-storey working watermill from the 1870s, a smithy and the miller’s shorefront sauna by the rapids (with a hot tub) can all be found in the area. The milieu of the mill is an honoured, protected site of the National Board of Antiquities. Feel free to ask about any additional services!
