Culture, shopping and Finnish fauna - all in one day!
Visit the gallery of Finnish painter Soile Yli-Mäyry, who has had more than 250 solo exhibitions in all over the world. The main theme in her work is humanity and people's alienation from nature in the urban world. Nature will be the theme also in Ähtäri where the bears, wolfs, lynx, elks, wolverines and other wild animals can be spotted in Ähtäri Natural Wildlife Park. This park is specialized in the species of the conifer belt.
Lunch is served in Restaurant Mesikämmen with beautiful scenery to the Lake Ähtärinjärvi, not to mention the mighty, rocky architecture of the building itself. Afternoon will be spent in the biggest village shop in Finland, Brothers Keskinen. In this "miraculous department store of the backwoods" it is easy to find also Finnish design products such as Marimekko textiles and clothing, Arabia and Iittala class and tableware.
Excursion includes transportation, guiding, lunch and entrance fee to the Ähtäri Zoo.
